      About Revision Puzzles

Build a crossword or word search around the vocabulary you are teaching. Enter one item per line: use an answer followed by a space and its clue for a crossword or a word search with clues, or enter words alone for a word-only search. The examples in the editor show the expected format.

Choose a puzzle mode and generate a layout. Adjust the number of layout attempts or the displayed cell size, then check that the words and clues suit the lesson. Pupils can complete the puzzle on screen, and the check, clear and reveal controls support feedback. Word exports provide separate puzzle and solution documents for printed worksheets.

Use this for revisiting subject terminology, introducing a topic or preparing independent work. Generating a crossword is a layout search: some word combinations fit more readily than others. Review the result and try another layout or revise the word list if necessary. Puzzle construction and document creation run in the browser.

Can I share a puzzle without sending a document?

Yes. Create play link produces a URL containing puzzle data for online play. Anyone with the link can inspect the embedded content, including solution data; it is intended for practice rather than secure assessment. Long puzzles can create long links.
