Start at mrkidmansclassroom.com

Go to mrkidmansclassroom.com and choose Teacher when asked.

New teaching builders sit alongside 30 classroom tools and games. The examples in this guide use KS4 Geography.

Find content by subject and unit, or open a builder for lesson resources and online activities.

Guide students through Interactive Revision

Interactive Revision combines topic notes, keyword models, matching, quizzes, cloze, hinge questions and answer practice where available.

Students open it from Home, a unit or their Gap Finder results.

The session runs online. Use the separate builders when you need Word or PowerPoint resources.

Use the subject links to save searching time

Geography's title buttons link to the specification, past papers and BBC Bitesize, with Quizlet and Save My Exams too. Teacher view also offers PLCs, revision guides and the newer activity builders.

Open resources for a particular unit

A unit such as G2: Tectonic hazards brings content and resources together. Interactive revision is the first button. Teacher view adds vocabulary activities, downloadable worksheets, Quiz and Teach alongside the student tools.

Help students revise actively

The unit page combines notes and diagrams with a quiz and feedback.

Ask students to turn the content into flashcards, a mind map or a summary, then try the questions from memory.

Mistakes give them a reason to revisit and improve their revision resources.

Download a personal learning checklist

Click PLC on a unit page to download its checklist.

The statements describe what students should be able to explain or do. Use them to discuss confidence, identify areas to revisit and review progress.

This shows part of the downloaded Tectonic hazards checklist.

Build PLC packs across selected units

On the subject page, click PLCs to reach the builder.

Choose the units or topics you want and build a pack. This is useful when preparing revision for a test or a longer period of study.

The selection controls let you focus the pack on what you need.

Use the key words for vocabulary practice

Click Key words on a unit to download its terms and definitions.

Use the list for retrieval starters, flashcards or checking vocabulary in explanations.

The subject Keywords shortcut opens Keyword Builder for lists, blank-definition sheets and matching activities.

Prepare vocabulary with Keyword Builder

Open Keyword Builder from Home or Keywords on a subject page. Add the topics you need.

Choose lists, blank definitions or connecting activities. Matching activities support online play as well as Word and PowerPoint.

The same reviewed keywords supply the activities.

Develop explanations with Frayer models

Frayer Model Builder organises a term around its definition, characteristics, examples and non-examples.

Choose the terms and boxes you want learners to complete, then adapt the suggested answers.

Use Word, PowerPoint or a shared online activity. The unit’s Frayer models button downloads a pupil worksheet.

Revisit vocabulary with Anagram Builder

Anagram Builder scrambles reviewed topic keywords and pairs them with definition clues.

Use it for a retrieval starter, then ask learners to explain the terms they solve.

The unit Anagrams button provides a quick worksheet. The builder offers selected content and interactive play.

Encourage precise explanations with Taboo

In Taboo, a student explains a keyword while avoiding the listed forbidden words.

Use the reviewed cards to encourage alternative explanations and careful vocabulary.

The unit Taboo button downloads the available cards. Taboo Builder lets you choose and prepare a set.

Plan a checkpoint with Hinge Questions

Hinge Questions Builder offers a conceptual question with plausible wrong choices.

Collect answers from everyone, then use the explanation and suggested follow-up to explore their reasoning.

Edit, share or export the activity to Word and PowerPoint. A chosen answer is a prompt for discussion.

Assemble resources with Lesson Builder

Lesson Builder combines Starter, Teach, Application, Assess, Plenary and Hinge sections from existing resources.

Choose available activities and topics, remove sections you do not need, and preview your choices.

Download a ZIP with the lesson plan, activity links and Word/PowerPoint resources.

Find a useful lesson idea

Zero Time Lesson Ideas suggests low-preparation lesson routines and activities.

Use its filters to find an idea for your situation, then adapt it for your class.

It also links to relevant website tools.

Build revision guides for students

Use Revision guides on the subject page to choose several units for one guide.

For one unit, the Notes button downloads its revision content directly.

These Word downloads can be edited or printed for students who prefer working on paper.

Use Gap Finder for individual next steps

Students can answer questions or rate confidence against PLC statements.

Their results assemble a personalised guide and link to Interactive Revision for the associated topics.

Use these routes to discuss a useful next task for each student.

Explain how AI Exam Practice gives feedback

Students answer a question, then click Check my answer.

The site copies a picture containing the question, their answer and an AI marking prompt. They paste it into an AI that accepts images.

This example shows real feedback. Students should query doubtful marking with you.

Create a cloze activity from the revision notes

Click Cloze builder on the subject page. Choose a unit and topic.

The tool loads the revision notes and suggests missing words using the unit's keyword list.

This keeps the worksheet based on the same material students use for revision.

Choose which words students will fill in

Click words to turn gaps on or off, then use Preview gaps to see the activity.

Remove passages you do not need. You can add content from other topics without losing the choices you have already made.

Export to Word downloads the worksheet with solutions.

Present a cloze activity to the class

Choose Full screen to show the included activity without the editing controls.

Click a gap to reveal its answer. You can discuss the choice before revealing it.

Share activity creates a link to reopen the chosen activity with answers hidden.

Download a crossword for the unit

Click Cross word on the unit page to create a Word download.

The puzzle uses the unit's keywords and clues. The download includes the puzzle, clues and solution.

You can print it or adapt the Word file for your class.

Download a word search for the unit

Click Word search to download a vocabulary puzzle with its solution.

The terms come from the unit's keyword list. Ask students to explain the meanings as well as finding the words.

The classroom crossword and word-search generator also supports choosing words or entering your own.

Choose questions in Exam builder

Open Exam builder from the subject page.

Choose the paper and filter or search the available questions. Add the questions you want to your selection.

These are independently written exam-style questions; Past papers remains the route to official exam papers.

Add questions to your assessment

Use the question list to browse the available exam-style questions.

Open a question preview if you want to inspect it, then use Add to include it in your paper.

The selection keeps track of your chosen questions and total marks.

Preview the paper and download both versions

Click Preview assessment to check the paper before downloading it.

Read the questions and check that the paper covers what you want students to practise.

You can change the selection and preview it again.

Download a paper and its matching mark scheme

In Your assessment, give the paper a title and review your selection.

Click Student paper (.docx) for the questions and Teacher mark scheme (.docx) for the answers and marking guidance.

Open the Word files to adapt or print them.

Present revision content in Teach

Click Teach on a unit page. The unit is selected for you.

Move through the notes and diagrams with Previous and Next.

Use full screen for a classroom display, or switch to Quiz to practise questions from the same content.

Write and highlight on the teaching slides

Use the pen, highlighter and text tools to annotate the revision content.

The whiteboard also offers shapes and other drawing tools. Undo lets you correct an annotation.

Each slide keeps its own annotations during the current tab session.

Add a blank slide for your own explanation

Use the plus / Add slide control to insert a blank teaching slide.

You can write, draw or add text for an explanation, worked example or class response.

Previous and Next move between your blank slides and the revision slides.

Export teaching slides to PowerPoint

Open Slides for export and choose the slides to include.

Leave Annotations ticked if you want your ink and text in the download. Then use PowerPoint to export.

The deck includes the selected revision and blank slides in order. Save it before refreshing the page.

Build a quiz for your class

Click Quiz on a unit page to open Quiz my class with that unit prepared.

You can filter the questions or add questions from other units. Choose whether to exclude image or multiple-choice questions.

Click Start quiz when your selection is ready.

Present one question at a time

In the individual view, give students time to think or write an answer.

Use the answer and checking controls to review it, then move to the next question.

You can adjust the display size and use full screen for the board.

Review answers together

Reveal the answer when students are ready to discuss it.

Ask them to explain why it is correct, improve their own response or identify a misconception.

This is separate from each student's quiz on the revision unit page.

Show ten questions at once and export the quiz

Choose Show up to 10 questions to display a set together. Use Review these questions individually to go through that displayed set one by one. The PowerPoint button downloads the active view: question and answer grids for the ten-question view, or a question on each slide for individual view.

Browse classroom tools and games

Classroom tools & games contains 30 tools, including quiz games, worksheet generators and teaching utilities.

Search or use the categories to find an activity. You can save favourites in this browser.

The separate Home builders provide additional ways to prepare teaching resources.

Choose a game for your lesson

The quiz games offer different ways to use questions.

Try Spiral Quiz, Quiz Battleships or other games in the catalogue. Many let you choose a question library or supply your own question set.

Read the game's setup controls before starting the class activity.

Run a two-team game with Blockbusters

Blockbusters provides a letter board for a two-team quiz.

Ask your own questions and use the board, timer and tile scores to run the game.

It gives a simple structure for a retrieval activity on the shared screen.

Use No PhoneHoot without student phones

Choose or create multiple-choice questions, then present them to the class.

Students respond using whiteboards, coloured cards or shape cards.

This gives the class a quiz format without needing a device for every student.

Explore circuits and save the result

Circuit Builder lets you build circuits on a canvas and inspect live readings.

It supports Word, PowerPoint and PNG exports.

Across the site, use PowerPoint for supported presentation tools such as Teach and Quiz my class, and Word for worksheets you want to adapt.
