How your information is handled when you use this site.

The essentials
You do not need an account. Files you select in the site's tools are processed on your device, rather than uploaded to the website. The site does not keep a central record of your answers, files or pupil information.
Some settings and activity are saved in your browser. Netlify, our hosting provider, processes connection data and provides site analytics. Cloudflare Web Analytics measures page visits and performance. If you choose to send feedback, email us or donate through Ko-fi, we receive the relevant message or supporter and transaction details.
Made for UK schools
Mr Kidman's Classroom is intended for schools, teachers and students in the United Kingdom. Resources use UK terminology and the curricula and qualifications named on each page; check that they match your course. This describes the intended audience. It does not mean that visitors or hosting infrastructure are confined to the UK, or remove any data protection rights.
In this notice, “we” means the operator of Mr Kidman's Classroom at mrkidmansclassroom.com. For privacy enquiries, contact support@mrkidmansclassroom.com.
Files stay on your device
Choosing an “upload”, import or file-open option in a classroom or resource tool lets your browser read the file locally. Its contents are not sent to or stored on our website or Netlify. Processing and creating the download happen in your browser.
Files you download are saved wherever your browser or device is configured to save them. Your device, school network, backup or cloud-sync provider may have its own storage arrangements.
What the browser remembers
The site uses local storage and session storage for features such as Student/Teacher view, preferences, revision progress, question history and saved activity state. Depending on the tool, this can include information you type into an activity. This stays in that browser and is not a pupil account or a central school record.
Session storage normally ends when the tab or browser session closes. Local storage can remain until you clear the site's data, use a tool's reset option, or your browser removes it. Clear site data using your browser's privacy settings on a shared computer; this also removes saved progress and preferences. We cannot retrieve or delete information held only on your device.
We do not require pupil names or contact details to revise, create resources or use classroom tools. Avoid entering identifying or sensitive pupil information where it is unnecessary.
Netlify hosting, geography and analytics
This website is hosted by Netlify. Its content delivery network distributes public pages and assets across a global network and routes requests to suitable servers. The site is not hosted exclusively in the UK, and a UK visit does not guarantee that all hosting, logging or processing takes place in the UK. Netlify is a US-based provider; data may be processed in the United States and other countries.
Serving a page necessarily involves technical information such as your IP address, the requested address, request time and browser or device information. Netlify can process and retain request logs to deliver the site, maintain security, troubleshoot faults and provide analytics.
We use the analytics and monitoring included in our Netlify plan, with a 30-day reporting window. These help us understand traffic, bandwidth and browser or user-agent categories. These hosting statistics are separate from your locally processed files and answers. A 30-day dashboard window is not a promise that every Netlify record is deleted after 30 days; its retention depends on the service, purpose and applicable terms.
Netlify describes its Web Analytics as based on server logs and operating without visitor-tracking cookies. For the provider's own explanation, see how Netlify Web Analytics works and Netlify monitoring.
Read Netlify's Privacy Statement for processing where it acts as controller, and Netlify's data protection information and Data Processing Agreement for its role as a service provider. The agreement describes international-transfer safeguards, including UK provisions where applicable. Netlify's subprocessor information describes its suppliers and processing locations. These documents have different scopes; statements about Netlify's own marketing website do not automatically describe this hosted site.
Cloudflare Web Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics on the public website to understand page visits, traffic sources and page performance, helping us improve the site. A JavaScript beacon sends usage and performance measurements from your browser to Cloudflare. This is separate from Netlify's server-side hosting statistics and does not submit your locally processed files, answers or saved learner state.
Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not use cookies or local storage to collect usage metrics and does not fingerprint individual visitors using IP addresses, browser details or other data. Your browser still connects to Cloudflare to load the beacon and send measurements. See Cloudflare Web Analytics privacy information, its metrics documentation and Privacy Policy for its processing and international data arrangements.
The beacon is enabled on the live website, not on local previews or downloaded pages. Blocking it does not prevent use of the teaching resources.
Optional donations: Ko-fi and Stripe
Teachers can choose to support the site through our donations page and Ko-fi. Donations are voluntary and do not affect access to teaching resources. The header donation link and payment panel are shown only in Teacher view. This is a display preference, not an identity or age check.
The embedded Ko-fi panel is loaded only after you choose “Load donation panel”. Before that, the donation feature makes no connection to Ko-fi or Stripe. Following the direct Ko-fi link also opens that third-party service. Once loaded or opened, Ko-fi and its providers receive technical information such as your IP address, browser information and service interactions, and may use cookies or similar technologies under their own policies. Switching to Student view removes the embedded panel; it does not reverse information already sent or delete third-party cookies.
Ko-fi collects the information needed to handle your contribution. We can receive your supporter display name, email address, donation amount, date, transaction status and any message you provide. A tip message or display name may be visible on Ko-fi depending on your choices; use its private-message option if appropriate. Please do not include pupil information or sensitive personal details.
Card payments are processed by Stripe through Ko-fi. Stripe processes payment details and other information for payment handling, security, fraud prevention and its legal obligations. This website does not collect or store your full card number or security code. As the recipient, we may see transaction and limited billing or payment information in the provider dashboards; donating is not necessarily anonymous to us.
We act independently as controller of the supporter and transaction information we receive. We use it to administer contributions, answer payment enquiries, handle refunds or disputes and keep necessary financial records. Our basis is our legitimate interest in administering voluntary support and, where applicable, compliance with legal record-keeping obligations. We retain relevant records only as long as needed for these purposes and applicable legal requirements. A donation does not sign you up to a mailing list.
Ko-fi and Stripe have their own responsibilities, retention rules and international processing arrangements, which may involve processing outside the UK. Read Ko-fi's Privacy and Cookie Policy, Ko-fi's supporter information guidance, Stripe's Privacy Policy and Stripe's Cookie Policy. For information we hold, use the contact and rights section below.
Cookies and similar technologies
Our own site code does not set cookies for advertising or visitor tracking, and we do not add advertising trackers. Browser local storage and session storage are used for the functional features described above; they are different technologies from cookies.
Netlify's server-side analytics do not need tracking cookies, and Cloudflare states that its Web Analytics does not use cookies or local storage for usage metrics. Hosting or security services may apply their own technical measures, and services you deliberately open, such as Microsoft Forms or the Ko-fi donation panel and Stripe payment services, may use cookies under their own policies. We therefore do not promise that no third-party service will ever set a cookie.
Optional feedback, email and other services
Bug reports through Microsoft Forms
The bug-report button opens a Microsoft Forms form. The form is loaded only when you choose to open it. Microsoft then receives the connection information needed to display and operate the form and processes submissions under its own arrangements. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Reports are sent to the website operator for investigation. Please do not include your name, school, passwords, pupil information or other personal information. If you do include personal details, we receive them as part of your report; the site's local-file statement does not apply to information you choose to submit to Microsoft Forms.
Email enquiries
If you email support@mrkidmansclassroom.com, we receive your email address, message and any attachments through our email service. We use them to respond and deal with the enquiry.
Libraries, sharing and AI services
Some tools load software libraries from external delivery services, including jsDelivr, unpkg and cdnjs. Those providers receive ordinary connection data when your browser requests their files. Loading a library does not upload the file you selected for local processing. See software credits for the libraries used.
If you follow an external link, use a social sharing service, or copy answers or images into an AI service, that service's privacy terms apply to what you choose to share. The site's AI Exam Practice does not automatically submit your answers to an AI provider.
Contact and your privacy rights
Using the site's tools does not create a pupil account or send us your locally processed files and answers.
If you email us or include personal details in a bug report, we receive those details. We use them to respond or investigate the issue, relying on our legitimate interest in supporting users and maintaining the site. We keep correspondence and reports only as long as needed to handle the issue, follow up fixes and meet any related legal obligations.
The separate arrangements for hosting connection data, Netlify and Cloudflare analytics, donations and browser storage are explained above. Our use of hosting and monitoring relies on our legitimate interests in delivering a reliable, secure site and understanding its traffic.
Your UK data protection rights apply to any personal information we actually hold. Depending on the circumstances, these include access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and portability. For requests or concerns, email support@mrkidmansclassroom.com.
You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Contact Netlify, Cloudflare, Microsoft, Ko-fi or Stripe using their privacy information for matters they control independently. We will update this page if the site's arrangements change.
