Roles and identity — Es cantante, actor/actriz, deportista or escritor/escritora identifies a singer, actor, sportsperson or writer. A profession normally follows ser without an article in a simple identification. Deportista can describe a man or woman; its ending does not change to deportisto.
Achievement — Ganó un premio y publicó un libro means He/she won an award and published a book. Nació en México means He/she was born in Mexico. Nacer is a verb; avoid a literal form of English was born. Use a fictional profile unless claims about a real person are verified.
Qualities and evidence — Es talentosa y trabaja mucho means She is talented and works hard. Talentosa agrees with the person; mucho modifies trabaja and does not become mucha. A claim that someone is generous needs evidence such as ayuda a una organización benéfica.
Fame and audiences — Tiene muchos seguidores means He/she has many followers; es famoso/famosa means famous. Fans, viewers and online followers are different audience measures. A popular person is not necessarily an expert on every topic; interpret the source's stated role.
Influence and opinions
Role models — Admiro a esta deportista porque nunca se rinde means I admire this sportsperson because she never gives up. Specific human direct objects take a. Me inspira means He/she inspires me; the verb's subject is the inspiring person, not me.
Opinions — Para mí, es un buen ejemplo means For me, he/she is a good example. Creo que and en mi opinión mark a viewpoint. Es rico can mean rich for a person or tasty for food, depending on context. Do not infer moral character from wealth alone.
Benefits and pressures — La fama puede ofrecer oportunidades, pero también quitar privacidad means Fame can offer opportunities but also remove privacy. Poder takes infinitives: puede ofrecer/quitar. Balance advantages and drawbacks with a relevant example instead of repeating bueno/malo.
Responsibility — Usa su fama para ayudar means He/she uses fame to help. Para + infinitive expresses purpose; porque ayuda gives a reason clause. Distinguish a public statement from proof of an outcome. No comparte todo means does not share everything, not shares nothing.
Media claims — El artículo dice que… reports what an article says. Según el texto means according to the text. Identify whether a sentence reports a fact, an opinion or an allegation; preserve words such as quizás and parece instead of turning uncertainty into certainty.
Experiences and responses
Past and change — Antes no conocía a la cantante, pero ayer vi una entrevista means I did not previously know the singer, but yesterday saw an interview. Conocía is singular imperfect; vi is preterite. Change in opinion needs evidence from what was said, not just the name of the celebrity.
Future wishes — Voy a ver su próximo partido means I am going to watch his/her next match. Me gustaría conocerla means I would like to meet her: la attaches to the infinitive. La quiero conocer is another placement; do not put la after a conjugated quiero as a separate word.
Comparing people — Esta actriz es tan conocida como su hermano means This actress is as well known as her brother. Más conocida que means better known than. Keep adjective gender with actriz and distinguish fame from the particular skill or behaviour being compared.
Reading reference — In Marta habló con Elena después de su concierto, su can be ambiguous without more context. Do not invent a referent (the person or thing a word refers to). A question about the text may require the surrounding sentence; use the most clearly supported answer rather than the nearest name automatically.
Writing and speaking task — Create a fictional profile with identity, achievement, justified opinion and a wish. Then discuss whether fame helps a stated cause, responding to a partner's follow-up. Check personal a, profession articles, time frames and the evidence for each judgement.
A fictional career timeline — Nació en 2004, empezó su carrera en 2021 y ganó un premio en 2024 means He/she was born in 2004, began a career in 2021 and won an award in 2024. These are fictional details. An album release, a match and an interview are different events; match the correct date to each verb. Empezó has a written accent, but empezó and empieza also belong to different time frames.
Different audiences — Un espectador watches an event; un lector reads; un seguidor follows a public figure. Tiene muchos seguidores, pero pocas personas compran sus libros means He/she has many followers, but few people buy the books. Pocas agrees with personas; it does not change because the public figure is male. Keep online popularity separate from sales or actual attendance.
Supporting a cause — Dona dinero a una organización y participa en un proyecto means He/she donates money to an organisation and takes part in a project. Participar en needs en; ayudar a una persona needs personal a. Promete ayudar means He/she promises to help: a promise is not evidence that the outcome already happened. Explain the stated action before evaluating its impact.
Attributing an opinion — La periodista dice que el concierto fue excelente, pero el cantante no está satisfecho means The journalist says the concert was excellent, but the singer is not satisfied. These are different judgements by different people. Una crítica can mean a review or criticism; the word alone does not establish a negative verdict. Preserve who spoke and what they actually evaluated.
