Learning and assessment
Component 1 covers Exploring User Interface Design Principles and Project Planning Techniques. Component 2 covers Collecting, Presenting and Interpreting Data. Each contributes 30% and is internally assessed using a Pearson-set assignment, with external moderation. Pearson releases new assignments twice a year; use the current series supplied by your teacher.
Component 3, Effective Digital Working Practices, contributes 40% and is externally assessed through a 60-mark examination lasting 1 hour 30 minutes. Apply knowledge to unfamiliar vocational contexts and combine ideas across the course.
The original Harbour Pool examples teach transferable methods. They are fictional lesson practice, not old-paper reproductions, live assignment answers or predictions. Build and test actual prototypes and workbooks and use the PLC demonstration tasks. Revision notes alone cannot demonstrate practical competence.
